About Elena

MY ORIGINS I am originally from Gorizia- an Italian town on the border with Slovenia- but I have called London my home since 2006. My first love in the world of the arts was music when I discovered classical piano at the age of 7 (my longest relationship to date). As an actress, I have mostly played Latin, Eastern European and Italian, but I have also had the pleasure to play Miranda in The Tempest in the year of Shakespeare’s 600th Birthday, at the Steiner Theatre . I have always been fascinated by foreign languages and cultures - probably because of my geographical circumstances- so alongside acting, I continued studying English, Spanish and German. Blessed with natural dark humour and suffering from incurable romanticism- I would love to be the neurotic heroin in the new Almodovar’s movie, or to play a vengeful, scornful sorcerer in a BBC period drama. NEWS I’ve recently embarked on a new adventures: writing. My one-woman show Clara - the story of the distinguished pianist and composer also known as the wife of Robert Schumann- which was was awarded an Arts Council Grant and premiered at the From The Forest Festival in 2018, is now ready to tour, stopping in: Los Angeles, Italy and Slovenia. The radio-drama version is available on iTunes at: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/clara-episode-1/1437133117. Enjoy! WHAT’S BEEN SAID ABOUT ME? "Miranda (was) brought to vivid and stunning life by Italian actress, Elena Mazzon. I have enjoyed some of Elena's previous productions and always love the emotional intensity she brings to her performance." - Tempest Review - Daniel White for ActingHour . "Elena Mazzon is a greatly talented performer and an excellent collaborator. I have the pleasure of working with Elena since 2013 when she first joined PartSuspended’s projects. Elena's creative skills and excitement of exploring new ways of performing and communicating with an audience have significantly contributed to our devising processes and performances." - Hari Marini- Founder and Director of PartSuspended . "Elena is a very creative actress. Easy to work with, committed and in constant search to improve her skills and knowledge." - Magda Olchawscha – film director .
