Italy 13th Century: the Guglielmites heretic sect is causing havoc in Milan. Their leader, Guglielma of Bohemia, who is believed to be the second coming of the Holy Spirit, appoints a nun as her Popess. This alone was a stake-worthy conviction, but to make things worse, Guglielma and Maifreda announced the beginning of a new era led by women.

— Hildegard von Bingen
